Commercial Manager

Greys Specialist Recruitment are working on behalf of an established fuel, energy and infrastructure specialist who are looking to recruit two Commercial Managers as part of a major growth phase.

This is a business with ambitious plans to significantly increase in size, and this role will be central to that growth. The company works across fuel, energy and infrastructure environments, delivering services that support operational continuity, asset reliability, compliance and long-term infrastructure performance.

The Role

As Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for developing new business, building relationships with major customers and opening wider opportunities across multi-site organisations.

This is a field-based, customer-facing role. You will be expected to attend customer sites, complete commercial fact-finds, identify where fuel and energy infrastructure may need maintaining, cleaning, refreshing, repairing or upgrading, and then develop opportunities across the wider business.

The Sales Executive team will support with appointment setting, site audit opportunities and initial fact-finding, but the Commercial Manager will own the customer relationship, build trust on site and convert opportunities into revenue.

Target customers may include fuel station operators, supermarket estates, fuel companies, facilities management businesses, transport and logistics operators, industrial sites, utilities, commercial estates, public sector organisations and other businesses with complex fuel storage, tank, pipework or energy infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop new business opportunities across fuel, energy, infrastructure and environmental services.
  • Attend customer sites across the UK to complete fact-finds, audits and commercial meetings.
  • Build relationships with senior decision-makers across blue-chip and multi-site organisations.
  • Identify opportunities for maintenance, testing, tank cleaning, fuel quality work, infrastructure refreshes, upgrades and larger project works.
  • Work closely with internal project, planning, operations and sales teams to ensure customer opportunities are properly scoped and delivered.
  • Cross-sell and upsell services across the wider portfolio, including fuel testing, fuel cleaning, tank and pipework services, infrastructure projects, decommissioning and emergency spill response.
  • Build long-term customer relationships that open doors across multiple sites.
  • Manage commercial conversations around pricing, scope, service delivery and future requirements.
  • Support revenue growth by developing strategic accounts and expanding the company’s footprint within target sectors.
  • Maintain strong internal relationships to ensure customers receive a joined-up, high-quality service.
